The second week of July, Bette and I attended the Music Merchants annual trade show in Austin, Tx. We saw lots of new gadgets and instrument, and got commitments for donated instruments for our OIBF auction.
The show was sandwiched in between a couple of pickin’ evenings with old friends. Thursday evening we had a cook-out and jam at the home of Alton and Dorothy Gattis. Alan Munde was there playing his banjo --- just like old Country Gazette times.

On Saturday evening I joined Rolf and Beate Sieker at Artz Rib House for a jam packed and much appreciative audience. I know Rolf and Beate from travels in Germany, though they have now relocated to Austin. Dallas Wayne joined us on bass. What a fun evening. Austin is full of live music places, but I have not played there in quite a long time; perhaps we can do it again soon.
